CONGRATULATIONS! You have invested in the finest GOLD recovery device possible. No technology in any form can process as much material as the GOLD EXORCIST in any given amount of time - AND maintain a recovery rate in the high nineties percentile of precious metal from fine and small to large grained concentrates. All other Technologies that approach the GOLD EXORCIST in recovery rates are both slow and much more expensive. Inside this manual, you will find very important operating Instructions that must be followed to achieve the results you expect from this product. The good news is these Instructions are simple and short. We have engineered the GOLD EXORCIST to be extremely user friendly by learning from hundreds of hours of field use. Bringing the GOLD EXORCIST to you is the culmination of years of research. The money and time spent through trials and error to prove this technology now in your hands has been considerable. Still, nothing in life that is of any real value is either cheap or easy. Your satisfaction is very important to all of us here. We have attempted to answer all possible questions you might have, in this manual, so that you may put the GOLD EXORCIST to use in the shortest time possible. Yet, you may have a question about a use for this product we've never considered or other concerns. We want to hear from you! You will find inside an 800 number that will be answered by a real person - never a recorded voice. We are proud of the GOLD EXORCIST and all of us thank you for the faith you have in both our Technology and us. The next few pages will teach you all you need to know. Your rewards will follow. F= (Q1Q2)/4pe0r2 COULOMB’S LAW; Two bodies are charged to Q1 and Q2 coulombs and are separated by a distance of r meters. F = the force between them. Q1 would be the Filter @ a near zero charge. Q2 would be the Space Charge (accumulated charge) of the forced hot air through the falling media. E= Q2/4pe0r2 E= the total Static charge of the field acting on each particle (where there are many particles) within a static environment (the media encountering the forced air). Each particle of the falling media through the hot forced air assumes a like charge and therefore repels its neighbor. This opens up enough space for even the smallest Gold particle to fall through uninhibited by its neighbors. Please see the section, “The Technology: How The Gold Exorcist Works”. Background Cover Photo: Lightning image Copyrighted by Gene Moore at chaseday.com. Please see his web site for amazing photos. Mr. Moore’s work is first class. This Lightning Image licensed by ACCURATE METAL DETECTORS and Ron Coen, 2007. A LITTLE HISTORY My name is Ron Coen. I am the inventor of this very new and unique Gold retrieval system. Though THE GOLD EXORCIST is somewhat similar in design to other Gold retrieval products, I developed this completely new concept from my years of work in the copier industry so that concentrates are processed with a fundamental difference. (This has to do with how toner is attracted to the paper from the drum.) You should feel confident that THE GOLD EXORCIST will capture the most Gold you have ever seen and at a much higher rate than standard dry washers or electrostatic units. THE GOLD EXORCIST will capture nuggets up to 1/4th inch, though it was primarily designed to capture nuggets 1/8th inch to very fine Gold. Since 98% of all Gold is fine Gold and not much larger, I decided to create a Product that, depending on the humidity and dryness of the concentrates, captures the highest percentage of precious metals of any machine out there. THE GOLD EXORCIST far surpasses all other products in that objective. Having said that, I must confess to you that Gold was NOT what THE GOLD EXORCIST was originally designed to capture. The original product was a device that retrieved 100% of all liquid mercury from the ground for environmental cleanups by Mining and other Industries. To the delight of the users of my Mercury Trap, they found that it also captured Gold, Platinum and Silver concentrates missed by their own retrieval systems. What I discovered was that the Technology that captured mercury worked as well or better on Gold, Silver and Platinum. After refining the original product in many ways for the serious prospector, THE GOLD EXORCIST was born. THE TECHNOLOGY HOW THE GOLD EXORCIST WORKS The Key technology for THE GOLD EXORCIST is the Filter System. All other dry washers use forced air as well but, either through design or happenstance, they create an electrostatic charge that encompasses not only the concentrate but also the filters. Everyone knows that like charges repel. Fine Gold of too small a mass, (therefore weight), cannot overcome the like charge of both the concentrate and the filter, so generally avoids capture by the filter and is lost. The filter system of THE GOLD EXORCIST maintains a NEUTRAL charge ALWAYS. The filter does not repel fine Gold! You get it all! I’m sure you’ve noticed that the Filter is made of wood. What you do not see are the different layers of different materials and chemical compounds that make up the filter itself. Everything from the wood frame to the different layers of different materials and chemical compounds guarantees a neutralizing charge – always! Forced air moving through metallic concentrates (Gold, black sand, etc.) will always create a static charge. How great a charge depends on the ambient humidity of the environment. The dryer the air, the greater the charge. Like charges repel, as I said earlier, but this time since the Filter is neutralizing the charge, the Gold, Silver and Platinum concentrates are forced by both weight AND their charge to the neutral Filter. This is how THE GOLD EXORCIST captures all of the Gold, Silver and Platinum all other products miss. Simple physics but lots of hard work and testing of various materials to create a great product. QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1. DOES HUMIDITY AFFECT THE GOLD EXORCIST? Humidity affects all dry washers. (Our testing, though, showed us that THE GOLD EXORCIST still achieved the highest ratio of small and fine Gold the first run.) For slightly moist media, (not moist enough, though, to stay a ball in your hand after clenching it), run a five gallon bucket through The Gold Exorcist 2 or 3 times. This should take only 4 to 6 minutes. The forced air from the blower coming through the Filter will dry the concentrates and release more Gold with each pass through. 2. DOES THE GOLD EXORCIST REALLY GET A HIGH 90 PERCENTILE OF PRECIOUS METALS THE FIRST RUN? In test after test – YES – it does based on weight and volume. 3. WERE YOU EVER CALLED ABOUT A SITUATION WHERE THE CUSTOMER FELT HE WASN’T GETTING 90%+ OF THE GOLD THE FIRST TRY? YES! He called saying that he got only 30 (he counted) very, very tiny specks of Gold the first pass through. Then very little after that! We asked him why he expected more than that because THE GOLD EXORCIST can only give you what is there. He told us that a friend of his had asked him to run his concentrates through THE GOLD EXORCIST not telling him (we found out after his third call) that his friend had already run them through his equipment 15 times. Our customer was thrilled to know that he was getting Gold from concentrates no other machine could equal. 4. HOW DOES THE GOLD EXORCIST COMPARE WITH THE WHIRLING BOWL TYPE OF GOLD RECOVERY MACHINE? We have tested THE GOLD EXORCIST against many other types of Gold recovery equipment, the whirling bowl being one of them. While we don’t like to discuss our competitors’ equipment in detail, there is, we found, a fatal flaw in their operation. We are telling you about this to give you a fix for the problem if you own one. With Gold fast approaching $1100/oz, you don’t want to lose any of it! 98% of all Gold is fine to very fine, or a grain of sand and smaller. I have seen the blue whirling machine marketed as drawing water from streams or pools by streams. Bad Idea! Because of surface tension, a lot of the finer gold is lost back into the water source. ALWAYS use a trapped source of water that you can put a drop of dishwashing liquid into to break the surface tension so you don’t lose 25 to 30% of the fine Gold. This, of course, is not a problem for THE GOLD EXORCIST. Also, you pretty much have to spoon feed the whirling machine. Spoon-feed THE GOLD EXORCIST?! 5. I LIVE IN THE BLACK HILLS OF SOUTH DAKOTA. HOW WILL THE GOLD EXORCIST WORK THERE? Wonderfully! Please go to http://www.thegoldexorcist.com/review.htm for a review of your area. 6. THE ONLY GOLD THAT SEEMS TO BE IN MY AREA IS FLOUR GOLD. CAN THE GOLD EXORCIST CAPTURE EVEN FLOUR GOLD? Absolutely! First of all, almost all gold is grain sized or flour small. You will be amazed to see flour gold in THE GOLD EXORCIST’s patented Filter. a. Gold is a very dense metal. Its density to surface area is extremely high. The positive air pressure coming through our Filter, though considerable, is still less dense than a sand grain sized gold particle, which has a very small surface area to interact with the moving air. As a result, the gold particle will fall through the less (to it) dense medium of forced air while the surrounding media of dirt, small rocks and sand will pass over the filter and out due to a much larger surface area that interacts with the forced air and their light weight (compared to the density of the forced air). Aha! You say. I live in the Denver, Colorado area – the Mile High City! Where the air is a lot less dense. What now? Everything I said before still applies, though you will find more of the heavier media captured by the Filter in your local as opposed to the deserts of Arizona or California’s Mohave. You’ll have a bit more to separate with your gold pan. b. Ok, after having said all the above, for Flour Gold you must follow a different set of procedures than grain sized Gold or larger. By Flour, I mean grains the size of talcum powder. First you must – and I really mean MUST! – classify all your media to the same size as the Gold. Because this media has such a fine grain it will tend to stick together and not be free flowing. The Hopper you would normally put this media into will not work in this case as you will have to constantly hit it to get the concentrates to go through the trap door. Why? Because the trap door would have to be open only a 32nd of an inch. Hardly practical. If you have already assembled the top Hopper to the Gold Exorcist, sorry, take it off. This is the only time you will ever have to do this, I promise. You must spoon feed your concentrates to the Filter where the trap door would normally do so. Yes, it can be a large spoon. Try holding a small steel bar or pipe with one hand while trapping it with the spoon in your other hand over the Filter. (Remember? It won’t flow freely.) Also, VERY IMPORTANT!! - you must use a less powerful blower. No more than 72 CFM. 50 would be perfect. (Translated – 50 to 70 MPH.) Any higher and you will just blow all of your concentrates away. Yep! Gold too. For Talcum sized Gold, the higher air pressure is not merely a less dense medium for it to fall through as for sand grained size Gold (in “a” above), but becomes an air mattress for it to float on off the Filter. Because you will be using a much less powerful blower, small rocks and larger media will not flow off the Filter but will clog it up, therefore no separation of the Flour Gold from your concentrates. This is why you MUST classify your concentrates to Flour Gold size before you start. 7. IF GOLD IS A PART OF A QUARTZ ROCK, WILL THE GOLD EXORCIST CAPTURE IT? Probably not if the quartz part of the combination is much bigger than the gold part. If you have a good-sized pile of these type of rocks, you should crush them to 30 to 50 mesh and then run that media through THE GOLD EXORCIST. 8. CAN I USE THE GOLD EXORCIST TO SEPARATE ANY GOLD FROM THE MEDIA CAPTURED BY EITHER MY SLUICE OR DREDGE? THE GOLD EXORCIST will work perfectly at this but only if your media is 85% dried. You will be surprised to see how well it separates fine Gold from black sand. And don’t be afraid to go through the tailings others leave behind, even from a high banker. Please note I said left behind! As in – they’re Gone – vamoosed! – departed! If you, out of the kindness of your heart, show them how much gold their equipment is losing, I guarantee, you will be spending more time helping them out than getting your own gold. We have heard of people taking off our nameplate and covering THE GOLD EXORCIST with a blanket when not in use out in the field for this very reason. We’ve also heard from some of our customers who go through the tailings left behind from other dry washers and salvaged as much as ¾ of an ounce of Gold. 9. HOW MUCH MATERIAL WILL I HAVE TO GO THROUGH TO GET A COUPLE OF OUNCES OF MEDIA WITH GOLD IN IT (IF THERE IS GOLD IN THE MATERIAL TO BEGIN WITH)? Normally, about 100 lbs. Figure around 25 pounds per minute. Yes, it’s that fast. But even more amazing are the results. 10. WILL THE GOLD EXORCIST WORK WITH RED CLAY? If the Gold is loose in the material, yes. Now, obviously, if the Gold is anywhere inside the clay – no. In this case, you should screen the clay material to a finer condition and then run it through THE GOLD EXORCIST. Try to classify the red clay down to 30 mesh if possible, or at least to the size of the Gold you expect to find in that area. The loosened Gold will separate out nicely. Please remember, though, that THE GOLD EXORCIST was designed for media no larger than 1/8th inch in size. Any Gold pickers larger than that should be easily seen in a classifier and taken out then. 11. MY UNIT IS GETTING ONLY AROUND 80% OF THE GOLD ON THE FIRST PASS. I REALISE THIS IS BETTER THAN MOST MACHINES BUT YOU SAID IT SHOULD GET WELL ABOVE 90% + THE FIRST TIME. Two immediate reasons are either the weather is too humid or the media is. Again, the media must be dry. Try running your media through The Gold Exorcist 2 or 3 times to dry it out or until you achieve a steady flow, (moving the media around in the upper box will help it through the trap door). But there is an even more important reason, which will be repeated in the TIPS section of this manual. The adjustable door in the upper box is open too wide. While it is true that the faster the material flows over the Filter the better, it does not follow that the More material that flows in a given length of time the better. If you classify your media to 1/8th inch, you should open the door just a little more than 1/8th inch. No more than that. If your door is open to ½ inch and you are processing 1/8th inch media, you have in effect 4 layers of 1/8th inch material flowing over the Filter. It may not give the Gold particles time enough to make their way through your media to the Filter. Take two 8 1/2 inch by 11 pieces of paper and fold each in half 4 times. As a rule of thumb – for 1/8th inch classified media, put both folded papers together by putting one half of one folded paper inside the other half like 2 “V’s” clamping down on one another. Then slip them through the door opening and turn the knob that adjusts the door till the door closes down on the 2 papers. Easy tight, not hard tight, You should be able to feel just a slight tug as you remove the paper. This should be a perfect opening for eight-inch material. If your media is classified to 100 mesh or more, use only one folded paper. For media larger than 100 mesh but smaller than 1/8th inch, lift one of the outer sides of the compound V’s up and insert the remaining 3 sides through the opening and close to an easy tight. One more point – classify, classify, classify! You will realize more return for your time spent with THE GOLD EXORCIST if you remove even small rocks, pebbles, sticks, etc. from your media. Remember, almost all the Gold out there is sand grain sized. If you think there are or see small Gold pickers in amongst the very small pebbles and stones after your media has been classified, it is the simplest thing to pan them out. Not so flour and grain sized Gold from black sand and dirt. Here THE GOLD EXORCIST excels! After you have tested an area for gold, produce as many buckets of classified material as possible and run them all through THE GOLD EXORCIST in one session. You’ll spend less time turning on and off both your power source and blower and suffer a lot less wear and tear on you and your equipment. 12. WHAT OTHER METALS DOES THE GOLD EXORCIST CAPTURE? THE GOLD EXORCIST captures Platinum and Silver as easily as it does Gold. You might be on the look out for them. Now, this is strange. A number of our customers have called to tell us they have found diamonds and garnets captured by THE GOLD EXORCIST. Quite frankly, we haven’t the foggiest idea how that is possible physically. They insist, though. All we can say is that we’ve never tested THE GOLD EXORCIST where gems are concerned. It never occurred to us. If this is happening out there, WONDERFUL! We only mention it here so that you will be on the look out for gems as well. If we do get a lot more calls verifying this, we will do a comprehensive test for gems and publish the results on our web site. 13. WHERE CAN THE GOLD EXORCIST WORK? Anywhere! Just as long as your media is 85% or better dry. Where in the United States are the best areas? Please see the TIPS section for a lot of good information. Elsewhere in the world? You will be amply rewarded for all the time you invest in research. That, by the way, is good advice wherever you are. Research ghost towns that grew up around mining areas, worked out placer areas (remember – back then their equipment was merely adequate at best) and tailing piles, etc. 14. HOW CAN I GET GOLD OUT OF GRANITE AND QUARTZ? Rock crushers are becoming dirt-cheap. It’s easy now to crush any rock to accommodate THE GOLD EXORCIST. We’ve tested crushed samples down to 60 mesh with great results. That, though, was not surprising since we’ve seen finer samples of naturally occurring Gold in our Filter at weekend outings. This brings up a hard and fast RULE. Because THE GOLD EXORCIST does separate such fine gold from various media, ALWAYS, ALWAYS pan what you remove from the Filter in a tub of water with a little dishwashing soap or JET DRY to break the surface tension. You will be shocked to see how much super fine Gold there really is in the concentrates THE GOLD EXORCIST processed. Then you will be sick knowing how much Gold you’ve thrown away in the past. (My work here is done.) 15. DOES THE GOLD EXORCIST TRAP MICA OR FOOL’S GOLD? No. 16. HOW WILL I KNOW MY MEDIA IS DRY ENOUGH TO RUN THROUGH THE GOLD EXORCIST? As a rule of thumb, (another one), if your media balls up in your hand and stays that way, it’s too wet. Some of the Gold in your media may stick to that media because of the moisture and will not separate out. Lay your media under the Sun in a large flat pan to dry out. It really is worth both the wait and your patience. This works well by streams and rivers. If you have a lot of media, we have a dryer box for less than $100.00. If you have a huge amount of material, visit your local hardware store for a cement mixer type rotation device. Attach to a pole in front of the opening a powerful hair blower to heat up the air inside and keep it dry. 17. HOW LONG DOES THE FILTER LAST OR DOES IT EVER NEED TO BE REPLACED? We have tested our Filter for 5 years and found no degradation of its effectiveness in that time. It worked no differently after five years of field use than the day we manufactured it. For this reason, we offer you a 5 Year Warranty against any manufacturer’s defects. If you take care of your filter, it should last many years beyond that. If it gets rained on, even by a good downpour, just let it dry normally. But please don’t let this happen often. There is a chemical impregnating the filter material that could suffer from too many drenchings. This would affect the Filter’s ability to maintain a neutral charge when operating. Also, do not leave your Filter in an enclosed area that is always highly humid as the Filter material could rot. The color may fade after a number of years, but this will not make it any less effective. 18. DO YOU SELL ANY CLASSIFIERS? Yes! Please call us at 800-662-0810. We have everything you need to make your experience with THE GOLD EXORCIST fun, profitable and efficient. 19. WHAT TYPES OF MATERIAL CAN YOU RUN THROUGH THE GOLD EXORCIST? THE GOLD EXORCIST will work with any kind of dirt, sand materials and crushed rock. Also – I kid you not – finely crushed electronic components and PC boards. Why? Because there’s Gold and Silver in them thar electronic thingies. Reclamation in the computer industry is a growing business due to both obsolescence and environmental laws. 20. IS IT BETTER TO RUN MATERIAL THROUGH THE GOLD EXORCIST SLOWLY? NO! We have yet to find any situation where running material (even crushed PC boards) slowly through THE GOLD EXORCIST should produce a better outcome. In fact, the faster the flow of material, the greater the dynamic charge that is created due to the forced dry, hot air coming through the Filter. It sounds counter-intuitive, I know. The faster the material flows (subject to the correct door opening – no greater) the more efficient THE GOLD EXORCIST is. We are assuming, of course, that your media is DRY. 21. SHOULD I LESSEN THE SLOPE OF THE FILTER BOX TO RUN BLACK SAND? I THINK IT SHOULD RUN SLOWER SO I DON’T LOOSE ANY GOLD. NO! The compliment of angles defining the geometry of THE GOLD EXORCIST have been finely tuned to give you the best return possible for your labors. Especially working with black sand. First, you will recover all the Gold there is in the black sand. Second, if you work against THE GOLD EXORCIST to move the black sand slower than it was designed to handle, the black sand could clog up your Filter. Any Gold left in the black sand would just ride the top of the flowing black sand off your Filter. You may actually loose Gold if you tried to run your material slower. If you still have a hard time believing this, EXPERIMENT! Pan all of you black sands. Set aside the Gold you have recovered. Wow, I’m impressed! OK, let all that black sand you’ve just panned dry out. Then run that totally-devoid-of-Gold black sand through THE GOLD EXORCIST. I’ll wait……………………Gosh, where did that Gold in your Filter come from? THE GOLD EXORCIST may be counter-intuitive, but it works! And The Gold Exorcist is a lot faster than panning. All of us, here, who bring you THE GOLD EXORCIST, wish to thank you once again for your purchase. We are proud of our product. It was a labor of Love, because we love Gold prospecting and this beautiful Country that makes it possible. When you prospect with your family and friends you are building memories that will last a lifetime. And you are teaching your children so much about so many things; from the great outdoors to economics, from planning ahead and equipment handling and map reading to the rewards of hard work. Now that is a labor of Love. The rewards last a lifetime. This is the adjustable knob you turn to open and close the Hopper Door to meter the flow of concentrates to the FILTER below. Please read the TIPS section of this Manual for instructions regarding how much to open the Door depending on the type and size of media flowing through. IMPORTANT! Attach the Hose here. Twist clockwise to attach, counter- clockwise to unattach. TIPS FOR BEST USE HOW TO GET THE MOST FROM YOUR INVESTMENT This section will consist of two parts. The first part will offer TIPS on THE GOLD EXORCIST itself. The second part will offer advice concerning concentrates and their preparation, accessories and research. PART ONE: THE GOLD EXORCIST IMPORTANT!1. Please pick a location for your Gold Exorcist that is relatively LEVEL. You can achieve this even in extremely unlevel ground by sometimes just moving some rocks around. The geometry of your Gold Exorcist is not a haphazard thing. A lot of time and effort was expended determining the most perfect angular relationship between the Hopper, lower Filter Box and the ground it all rests on to recover as much Gold as possible. Those angles define where the media hits the Filter and how the media travels over the Filter. If your Gold Exorcist is laid back, the concentrates will move over the Filter much slower and could possibly affect production and recovery. It needs to be somewhat steep. Though many competitors’ designs work on a shallower angle, the Gold Exorcist is not designed to work that way. Its new Dynamic Force feature is a totally different principal than other designs and is what makes the Gold Exorcist so much more successful. This Development generates the greatest ratio of Gold recovery ever produced. If the Gold Exorcist is too far forward, your Gold concentrates will have less of your Filter to be captured. Think of a jet trying to land on an aircraft carrier with half the surface gone. Bottom line: the more level the ground your Gold Exorcist sits on, the greater your Gold recovery. Take advantage of the finest gold recovery system made by making the Gold Exorcist as level as possible. IMPORTANT!2. Please make sure that the Hopper’s door is opened to the approximate size determined by what your concentrates are and/or their size. If your media has been classified down to a sand size or less, the door should be less open. If your media has been classified to 1/8 mesh or larger, open the Hopper Door accordingly. In any case, usually never larger than an quarter of an inch opening. This is because the Gold Exorcist has a hard time capturing any gold larger than ¼ inch. You need to understand how big a ¼ nugget really is. Any metal detector zooming over a tailing pile will certainly easily register a nugget that size. But please remember that 98% of all Gold found in tailing piles of mines 100 or more years old is Fine Gold. Fine Gold is defined as Less than 1/8 inch in size – mostly the size of a grain of sand. The Gold Exorcist seems to lose some of its ability to capture all the Fine Gold it otherwise would if the door is open too wide for the type or size concentrates you are feeding through it. The Gold exorcist is 3. FAST! If you are taking it on location, consider taking along as many as 10 plastic buckets. Fill all ten with concentrates before using the Gold Exorcist. Then turn on your generator and leaf blower and run as many as you have done or even all ten buckets through the Gold Exorcist at one time. First, this will save fuel for your generator as it takes more fuel to start up your generator and your leaf blower than to run them both once they’re started. Second, wear, tear and time. Turning everything on and off 30 times a day verses a few times a day is much harder on you and your equipment. Third, you will probably be able to run all 10 buckets through the Gold Exorcist in 20 minutes or less anyway. Since the buckets are more or less full, stack the buckets in one another three high in a comfortable position beside you and start pouring with the tenth bucket. OK. What goes in definitely comes out. We made the Gold Exorcist fairly low to the ground 4. to make it more stable. Three buckets of concentrates will pile up in front of the Gold Exorcist very fast let alone ten. Put a small plastic tub in front of the Gold Exorcist to catch the concentrates that leave the Filter. Attach a rope to each tub, (you might have around 3 or 4 to work with); so that you can pull the filled tub out of the way and quickly move an empty one in its place. Then just pull the filled tubs to the area you dug up to fill back up again. IF YOU DIG A HOLE, NEVER, EVER LEAVE IT UNFILLED! Not only are you creating a possible safety hazard, but also it’s a good chance you don’t own the property you are digging those holes in and you will just upset the owner. That will make it much harder if not impossible for the next guy who comes along (let alone yourself) to deal with the understandably upset property owner. Please be considerate and respectful of the nice people (government or civilian) who are letting you take Gold out of their ground. Can you run 10 buckets through the Gold Exorcist without cleanup if all ten have Gold in 5. them? Depends. Why? Some buckets will have a lot more Gold in them than others. You will want to know right then and there which bucket had the most Gold in it because that area you got the concentrates from is where you want to spend all of your time. But wait! How will you know what area each bucket came from? (Are we brilliant here or what?) Go to your local stationary dealer and buy some note pads with a sticky back. Write the number 1 on one page, 2 on the next, etc. through 10 on the tenth page. Fold each page around the wire part of the carrying handle of each bucket. Go to your local hardware store and buy 10 metal numbers, (as large as possible) one through 10. When you dig up the first hole on location, toss the metal number 1 to the ground by the hole. Of course, you will use the bucket you previously tagged number 1. Now you will know where each bucket came from and where to concentrate your efforts for maximum returns. All right, what about the original question? Can you run 10 buckets through the Gold Exorcist without clean up if all ten have Gold in them? This depends on how much Gold is backing up behind the riffles. If there is quite a bit, go ahead and clean up (figuratively as well as literally). But, you do not have to worry that you will lose any Gold if you do not clean up. It will stay on the filter and not be dislodged by falling media. As for cleaning up in a hurry, (fading sunlight?), I would suggest a hand vac, the DIRT TAMER ULTIMA V2510. This hand vac is the only one powerful enough to lift the Gold off the Filter. Yes, it beats the Dyson in power and costs a lot less. Also, the battery will stand the heat of the Mohave Desert all day without damage or leaking according to the manufacturer. Even more important, the Gold that the ULTIMA picks up is safe inside and easily taken out. Cleaning the Gold Exorcist Filter takes less than 30 seconds. Ditto extracting the Gold from the ULTIMA VAC by DIRT TAMER. Your Gold Exorcist has been painted with powder type paint. This is very durable and able 6. to stand the normal abuse for which it was designed while in operation. We wanted to put rubber padding on its feet, however, to extend the life of the paint there as much as possible. We were not able to because every business that either makes or sells various kinds of rubber or plastic told us the same thing; nothing they make or sell will stand the abuse of gravely or sandy ground with the high temperatures of the desert. Add to that the almost certain failure of any glue we might use (for the same reasons) to hold the pad onto the feet. We seriously considered riveting stainless steel pads to the feet but the costs became prohibitive. We brought this up for two reasons: one – we didn’t want you to think that protecting the Gold Exorcist’s feet from an abrasive surface was a foreign concept to us. Two – there is a solution…..low tech but a solution in any case. Duct tape. Merely wrap each foot in duct tape and you’re good to go. There, you just saved yourself around $150.00 in a higher price tag for the Gold Exorcist. PART TWO: CONCENTRATES, ACCESSORIES & RESEARCH The Concentrates: 1. Classify – Classify – Classify! It is not as time consuming as you think but will greatly speed up the performance of your Gold Exorcist and improve vastly its ability to separate Gold from whatever material it finds itself in. As well, you will see immediately any large Gold nuggets ripe for the picking. (Remember, the adjustable door in the top Hopper should rarely be opened more than a 1/8 to ¼ inch. Its original design was based on 1/8th. Many have even gone up to ¼ with really good success.) Then too, if you have marked your buckets as in #5 above, you would know where those nuggets came from and could go right back for more. As I have written elsewhere in this manual, your concentrates must be dry. The more 2. damp your concentrates, the less effective your Gold Exorcist will be at separating Gold from your media. The moisture also has a great effect on the gravity feed system. Don’t give any of it back. Repeat after me…Dry….Dry….Dry. Power Generators. You need power to feed air to your Gold Exorcist so we tried a few 3. generators to see which was the best and most cost effective. There were other parameters just as important. MAKE OF GENERATOR STREET PRICE RUN WATTS SURGE WATTS WEIGHT FUEL CAP. YAMAHA EF2400iS $1,199.99 2400 6000 70 lbs 1.6 gal. The sound levels listed are quieter than normal conversation. Surge watts are important. The higher the figure the better as all electrical appliances require a much higher start-up wattage than running wattage. The Yamaha is perfect except for its weight. The Honda is cheaper and weighs less but is not as powerful and requires more frequent fill ups. Both are tops in quality and do what they advertise. The Yamaha has more than enough power to run even your household refrigerator, which requires a lot of surge power. With its larger fuel tank and running the Gold Exorcist 15 minutes at a time, one fill up will last you around 20 days, or 2 weeks if you run a TV, etc. in the evening. (IMPORTANT! If you plan to run any electronic devices with any generator, attach a surge protector/ power pollution and spikes protector or run a really good risk of damaging your TV etc. The MONSTER Computer PowerCenter PC 800 HP w/Clean Power cleans up the electronic noise pollution created by the generator that can wreak havoc with sensitive electronics meant for home power only. Extremely strong, holds up to 200 lbs, it has 7” dia. wheels and it all collapses to 19.5” W by 2.25” Thk. by 28.5”H. Street price is around $128.00. Chairs: You might as well be comfortable out on location. How about a chair that is 4. very comfortable, strong and FULL SIZED? Yet it easily folds to 1/16th its size, fits in its own travel bag and weighs no more than 9 lbs. It is made of Fine Polyester fabric and Nylon mesh and holds up to 250 lbs. This is the PICO ARMCHAIR and sells for around $119.00. Research: Where’s the GOLD!? Everything comes down to that. Research is vital 5. but it doesn’t have to be either hard or boring. Below is listed various gold mines of information. I would suggest taking advantage of all of them as any one of them might give you what you need to make a great find. And keep it! You will be informed and kept abreast of laws concerning prospecting both national and regional, how to file claims and who to sell your Gold to for the best price. The list goes on including things you should know but didn’t know that you should know. But first, where’s the GOLD? Maps – There is a series of maps called “Gold & Gem Maps, Then and Now” A. copyrighted by RN/ML Preston (2002) that are the finest I’ve ever seen both in graphics quality and information content. They are available for various States. Their information comes from the U.S. Geological Survey and historical documents dating back to the 1800’s. You can also purchase maps of all of the old mining towns and ghost towns in the United States. Very little could be more lucrative that going through old tailing piles with your Gold Exorcist in ghost mining towns. Maps – another series of maps, called “The Gold Map” published by Big Ten, Inc., B. also covers the United States in sections and is a great compliment to the “Gold & Gem Maps” above. These maps identify more Gold locations (6,600 in California alone) and add more Historical information than the “Gold & Gem Maps” but rely more on the U.S. Geological Survey than the “Gold & Gem Maps”. Most of the locations found in Preston’s Maps were both visited and verified by Preston to have Gold at those locations. By the way, both of the owners of these Map Series are in their high eighties. They’ve impressed their many years of experience and knowledge to these Maps for our benefit. Please don’t pass these resources by. Videos – All right! You poured over the maps and picked out a location. You’re C. there now with your Gold Exorcist, power generator, the Mighty Max folding cart to move it and other essentials, and even the PICO ARMCHAIR to relax in during well deserved rest periods. The day is beautiful, the sky’s clear and the air is clean and smells great. But as you survey the wonderful scenery you ask yourself, “Where do I begin?” Lets face it, as beautiful as it is, it all looks the same. True…..but it isn’t. Chris Gholson’s “Nugget Hunting Essentials” Volumes One and Two shows you why Gold is found in one place and not another. You learn how to read the land. When you understand what it is saying you suddenly have a wealth of information literally at your feet. Gold delights in hiding from you but the land it is hiding in is a tattletale. You just need to learn its language. Chris Gholson is a master at teaching you this very interesting language. His knowledge and experience in Gold hunting is formidable covering both the American and Australian continents. These videos are first class in photography, content, production quality and soundtrack. This is the easiest and most intriguing language course you will ever learn – not to mention the most rewarding. These videos are essential. Don’t pass these by either. GPS devices – D. GET ONE! All of them are good. By all means buy whichever GPS device fits your budget but make sure that it will at least remember or can save locations for later digs. It’s your last day on your outing and you haven’t done very well. One hour before you have to break camp and leave you discover a bonanza. There is GOLD everywhere in a 12 by 12 foot plot of land. But you have to leave! Think you will find it again???? Especially if bad weather in the meantime changes the landscape? I rest my case. Also, most will remember for you your way back to your car if you have to go pretty far a field. Magazines – The “Backpacker” magazine is a consumer reports type magazine E. for everything camping. From generators to tents, from boots and backpacks to GPS devices, from stoves and sleeping bags to SUV’s, from shortwave radios to the latest in technology in all of these categories and more. If you are planning an extensive outing, this is one resource you should grab immediately. Their web address is www.backpacker.com. Magazines – IGMJ’s “PROSPECTING AND MINING JOURNAL” is in a word, F. incredible. Not only does it teach you how and where to find Gold, but the latest technology and equipment now available to help you do so. As well, it keeps you informed about the latest laws being considered and passed, both State and Federal that will affect your right to hunt for Gold. Besides very interesting historical documentation on Gold and Silver there is “Melman on Gold and Silver” who keeps you up to date concerning the financial side of precious metals, government debt and the Federal Reserve, our trade deficit, the International bullion trade and Currencies and what this all means to you and our economy. Also included are mining stock quotes from all the major stock exchanges of Canada and the United States. You can subscribe to the “PROSPECTING AND MINING JOURNAL” by calling 831-479-1500. Their web address is www.icmj.com. Magazines – The “Gold Prospectors” magazine is published by the GPAA. This is G. The Gold Prospectors Association of America (more on this below). This magazine is wonderfully informative both currently and historically. I know, I keep bringing up the word “history”. But only by knowing the history of a place or an event can you find that elusive bed of Gold nuggets or Gold dust. It’s out there! This magazine is also a consumer’s report on the latest Gold prospecting equipment. While the “PROSPECTING AND MINING JOURNAL” tends to paint with broad- brush strokes, the “Gold Prospectors” magazine is more locally detailed such as the “Prowl Known Districts 2 Find Gold” article published in the Nov/Dec 2007 edition. And you are kept up to date with local events such as Gold and Treasure Shows near you and Gold outings to use your Gold Exorcist. Bottom line, you get the best of both worlds with both magazines. Call 800-551-9707 for a subscription or go to www.goldprospectors.org. Books – below are two must have books on how to operate and get the best use H. of GPS devices and one on how navigate with Compass and Maps. Not only immanently useful, they will give you the knowledge you may need if you find yourself lost or worse. By the way, in a heavily forested area where you plan to prospect for Gold, a family walkie-talkie with a minimum 10 - mile range is mandatory! Cell phones are pretty much useless anywhere where you might find Gold. Even a hand held CB is good. But you have to be able to tell whom you are calling where you are! Hence, GPS or map coordinates. This particular book teaches a mini geology course in placer deposits, the dynamics of streambeds and where to find Gold in them. Understand the how Gold got there and you will know the where! Books – the “Site Locator for (State)” series of books. Nine years of hard and I. costly research were necessary to produce these books for your benefit. There is a book for every State in the Union with GPS locations for ghost towns, old Forts, battlefields and more. Yes, even Hawaii. As a lot of ghost towns were once mining towns, you can find tailing piles to run through your Gold Exorcist. Those old miners have done most of the work for you! Also included are the laws and regulations for that State concerning what is legal and not legal in your prospecting on public and Federal Lands, necessary permits and Archaeological Resources Protection Acts, definitions and amendments. And, oh yes, criminal penalties. Good things to know. The authors bought and studied almost impossible to find and very expensive documentation dating back to the 1600’s. You will find a wealth of information here for finding lucrative prospecting sites and need to know laws to keep from running afoul of Law Enforcement. Clubs – GPAA or the Gold Prospector’s Association of America. One word here: J. JOIN! Go to www.goldprospectors.org for all the information you need about membership. By “work” we mean capturing Gold dust down to 50 mesh (really small stuff - eat your hearts out competition) and up to 1/8 th inch in size as long as you have adjusted the door opening correctly which is just slightly larger than the size of the media you are feeding through it. 99% of the time this is no more than slightly bigger than 1/8th of an inch. Obviously, for concentrates with the consistency of powder, the door should be opened less. Also, your concentrates should be at least 85% dry – no less! Of course, we are not responsible for damaged FILTERS. Please take care of your FILTER as described in this Manual. It is very expensive to replace. (Call us for pricing if your dog uses it as a chew toy.) Now, if the FILTER stops working as described within the 5 (five) year period, we will replace the FILTER at no charge. You must return the non-working FILTER back to us though as we will do extensive testing to determine why it failed. We don’t want it to happen again - ever!
